Reverend Rueben Y. Dockery, Sr., Ph.D.

 

Reverend Rueben Y. Dockery, Sr. has served in the social service arena for the past twenty years. He has contributed to humanity as a pastor, non-profit founder, professional educator, counselor and juvenile detention supervisor. He is a community activist in the  greater Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County, Tennessee area.

 

Since 1998 Reverend Dockery, founder and executive director of Building Families and Communities Missions Incorporated, has been working as an advocate for families and communities to improve the quality of life for families facing social challenges.  In addition to his position with the non-profit organization, he is the founder and pastor of Beythel Family Church located in Nashville, Tennessee.  As a professional consultant he has facilitated a number of educational seminars and workshops. Seeing a serious need to assist parents in being active in the teaching of their children, he has translated his enlightening encounters with urban communities into curricular models for parents and communities.  

 

Reverend Dockery completed doctoral studies in Education (Walden University). He holds a Master of Education degree (Trevecca Nazarene University) and a Bachelor of Arts degree (History) from Fisk University. He also holds an Associate degree in Divinity Studies.  Reverend Dockery resides in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife Shanita; they have two children, Kayla and Rueben Jr.
